In the month of October, Fundación Pro-Mixteca, in partnership with Mujeres en Desarrollo A.C. and Fondo para la Paz I.A.P., held the 2nd and 3rd Ñuu Savi Forum: Voices of the Mixteca for Water Justice in Santiago Yolomécatl and Santiago Juxtlahuaca, respectively. These forums brought together community facilitators, authorities, academics, and civil society to design proposals aligned with Mixtec communities that guarantee the human right to water.
As host of the 3rd Forum, Fundación Pro-Mixteca received support from the leadership of CBTA 131 in Santiago Juxtlahuaca, the venue of the 3rd Forum. Staff from the Municipal Government (H. Ayuntamiento), local authorities, and foundation beneficiaries attended and collaborated. Communities facing the greatest water stress were identified, along with potential solutions rooted in local contexts. The outcome will be the development of a shared work agenda that brings together different stakeholders to implement projects based on participatory assessments.
We appreciate the participation of SARAR Capacitación in the 3rd Water Forum. Their contribution, experience, and knowledge provided a clearer and more practical perspective to strengthen improvements in water and sanitation, inspiring sustainable actions in our communities.
