Pablo Elizondo was born on October 22, 1953, and throughout his life he was an example of human-centered leadership. A Chemical Engineer from UNAM, he complemented his education with advanced studies in the United States and Harvard’s Advanced Management Program—knowledge he always placed at the service of others.

For more than four decades at Grupo Bimbo, he held key responsibilities in Mexico and in different regions of the world, standing out for his strategic vision, his ability to lead in multicultural contexts, and his approachable leadership style. Yet beyond titles and positions, Pablo was, above all, a mentor and a guide deeply committed to collective growth.

His bond with the Mixteca was born from a mission that profoundly shaped his life. A man of faith, it was through his encounter with the communities that he recognized the region’s reality, cultural richness, and challenges. From that moment on, he embraced a personal commitment to support community development. From this calling and deep conviction, Fundación Pro-Mixteca A.C. was born—an organization in which he served as a founding member since 2004, President of the Board of Directors, and most recently, General Director.

Through the Foundation, he steadfastly promoted capacity-building and educational strengthening for communities across the Mixteca region, fostering strategic alliances and working tirelessly for sustainability and social impact. His legacy goes beyond works and projects: it lives on in people, in communities, and in the values he planted.

Today, we honor his life, his faith, and his example. Pablo Elizondo leaves a profound mark among us and a clear path to continue building a more dignified and supportive future for the Mixteca.

Rest in peace
