WORKSHOP ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF TOILETS AND SANIHUERTOS

On March 8 and 9, in the community of Santiago Ayuquillilla, a workshop was held on the construction of toilet bowls and slabs for “sanihuertos” (a dry toilet alternative), where women and men from various communities participated. The event was organized by Mujeres en Desarrollo (MUDEM) and facilitated by SARAR, an institution that applies a participatory methodology for education and environmental training in water and sanitation services.

Fundación Pro Mixteca took part in this activity alongside a working group from the municipality of San Miguel Amatitlán, enabling them to replicate the knowledge acquired according to their capacities. We are grateful for the opportunity to take part in this valuable initiative, which is essential for communities where access to water and sanitation remains a pressing need.
